Caitlin and Nick have known each other since they were five years old. They attended kindergarten through high school together but it was not until after college graduation where they really “met”. Caitlin’s best friend Candace suggested a double date with her fiancé and his friend Nick. The rest is history. They spent the whole summer together, going on late night drives, enjoying long days at the lake and flying more than she would ever like to (Nick is a pilot, pretty cool huh?)
“Nick’s ability to get me out of my comfort zone and try new things was one of the first things I really liked about him, and I think he had a blast watching me experience so many new things as well” – Caitlin
Jumping out of an airplane was one of Caitlin’s biggest fears, but we will circle back to Nick’s ability to make her try new things and Nick somehow convinced Caitlin to go skydiving back in May 2020. Nick originally did not plan to propose this day but knew he did not want a boring proposal and there is nothing boring about jumping out of a plane, so he made plans to pop the question. Cailtin was nervous and thought Nick planned for the camera man to jump specifically with her so that he could watch her freak out on video for years to come but little did she know that when she landed, Nick was on one knee and the camera man was there to catch it all.
“He definitely won the most exciting and adrenaline-fueled proposal ever and it was a moment neither of us will ever forget” -Caitlin
When asking Caitlin and Nick to describe their style wedding in a few words they chose, “romantic adventure” and we cannot think of two better words to describe their relationship and their special day. From using their favorite colors, representing their fur babies’ personalities with decor choices, and the combination of Caitlin’s romance using candles and florals mixed with Nick’s love for adventure using paper airplane escort cards and an atlas guest book, they created a wedding that fit their love and personalities perfectly.
