We are here to help keep your planning on track, and for the day of to run as smoothly as possible. We have put together some resources that will help you + your guest enjoy every second of your day.
Here at Birchwood, we firmly believe you can plan a beautiful event in two months or two years and provide a timeline based on a suggested order of operations.
Set date for wedding
Create budget based on style of wedding you want
Determine guest count
Select bridal party
Book The Venue at Birchwood
Book hotel room block
Book vendors (planner, photographer, videographer, florist, officiant, DJ/band, etc.)
Purchase wedding attire
Work with Birchwood/planner/ photographer on a schedule that works
Finalize guest count (with names and addresses)
Take engagement photos (you can take them at Birchwood during one of our open houses)
Schedule tastings & vendor meetings
Send save the dates
Attend a Birchwood open house (if you want)
Select music for ceremony/reception
Order invitations/programs, etc.
Schedule hair & makeup trials
Reserve rental items for ceremony and reception
Register for gifts
Arrange for transportation (optional)
Create a photo must have list for photographer
Set shower and party dates
Purchase gifts for bridal party, parents and friends
Purchase wedding extras (favors, guest books, signs, etc)
Send invitations
Confirm honey moon/ travel plans
Have final fittings and pick up wedding rings
Obtain marriage license
Organize tips/ gratuity
Send shower & party thank you cards
Finalize music selections (and timing for ceremony, walk in, first dances)
Write vows (optional)
Determine & communicate wedding date responsibilities
– The Venue at Birchwood will ask that you select a ‘“Decision maker for the day”
-Put someone in charge of transporting gifts and decorations at the end of the evening
Confirm timeline & details with all vendors/ family/ bridal party
Contact those who did not RSVP
Finalize seating chart (optional)
Submit final guest count to caterer and venue
Arrange wedding day essentials
Clean rings
Pack all the “Details” into one box for photographer (jewelry, shoes, invite, etc.)
Rehearse ceremony- make sure your parents and grandparents practice too
Get a good night’s sleep
Enjoy your wedding day- Take a moment to stop and soak in your event during the day
Send Thank You cards & write vendor reviews

There are some faster ways on back roads depending on where you live in these areas.
From Nashville & Franklin area:
Take 1-65 South to Saturn Pkway/TN-396 via EXIT 53 towards Columbia/Spring Hill
Take first exit, Port Royal Road exit
Turn left onto Port Royal Road
In 2.4 miles take a slight left turn onto Kedron Road
Continue on Kedron Road for 2.5 miles until you come to The Venue at Birchwood on your left
From Lewisburg/Columbia area:
Take I-65 North to Saturn Pkwy/TN-396 via Exit 53 towards Columbia/Spring Hill
Take first exit on to Port Royal Road
Turn left onto Port Royal Road
In 2.4 miles take a slight left turn onto Kedron Road
Continue on Kedron Road for 2.5 miles until you come to The Venue at Birchwood on your left
From Dickson/Fairview area:
Take I-840 E to Exit 31 to merge onto I-65 South towards Huntsville
Take Saturn Pkwy/TN-396 via Exit 53 towards Columbia/Spring Hill
Take first exit Port Royal Road
Turn left onto Port Royal Road
In 2.4 miles take a slight left turn onto Kedron Road
Continue on Kedron Road for 2.5 miles until you come to The Venue at Birchwood on your left
From Murfreesboro:
From 1-24 take exit take exit 74A to merge onto I-840 West towards Memphis, Franklin
Stay on I-840 for 23 miles then take exit 30 onto Lewisburg US-431
Turn right onto Lewisburg Pike
In 11 miles turn right onto Kedron Rd
In 1.9 miles The Venue at Birchwood is on your right
From Spring Hill (back roads) :
From Main Street turn left onto Miles Johnson Pkwy
In 1.4 turn left onto Kedron Rd
In 6.2 miles The Venue at Birchwood is on your left
From downtown Franklin (back roads) :
From Fifth Avenue S keep left at the split onto Lewisburg Avenue
In 18 miles turn right into Kedron Rd
In 1.9 miles The Venue at Birchwood is on your right
